There are certain things every college student needs before they begin their college career. One of those things, unfortunately is a computer, preferably a laptop. There are options out there for college students that are inexpensive and still have all the things they need to write those lengthy term papers. I know my laptop has had a positive experience on my college career and I bought it for $700. I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 equipped with the new Windows Vista. From my point of view Vista takes some getting used to. Some say it’s Windows way of acting like a Mac, but it is neater and more efficient in some ways, while being slower in others. Well enough about my computer. When shopping for a laptop for school you should look for dual core processor. To go along with this processor you’ll need plenty of memory, at least “1GB system RAM”, and “Microsoft’s new Vista OS” which comes out next year (Cheng). Portability is also another issue you’ll need to consider the best screen size for the best portability is the 15.4″ or the smaller 14.1″.
